Project Steps

1. This design was etched in stages. The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously. Additionally, it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
2. Remove the top from the ornament and set aside. After preparing the outside of the glass, position the mermaid along the right side of the ornament. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the mermaid onto the ornament.
3. Wipe down the design area with glass cleaner. Position the desired letters on a curve from tail to head. See the lettering tutorial if necessary. Use the etching cream, as before, to etch the name onto the ornament.
4. Wipe down the ornament with glass cleaner. Paint the sparkle polish on the back side of the ornament. Set aside until completely dry. Put the top back onto the ornament.
