Project Steps
- This design was etched in stages. The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously. Additionally, it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
- This design also used a masking technique which allows for the selective use of certain parts of a stencil in specific locations.

- After preparing the glass, place a flourish so it fills one angel wing and the lines angle down toward the middle of the angel, as shown.
- Securely cover the unwanted part of the design with masking tape. Follow the etching cream directions to etch the design onto the wing.
- Place the opposite flourish on the opposite wing and angle toward the ends of the other wing design. Securely cover the unwanted part of the design with masking tape.
- Beginning with the letter in the middle of the name and working outward, place the letters for the name across the bottom of the angel.
- Use the etching cream as before to etch the remaining part of the design onto the glass.
