Celestial Stars, Moon Lamp & Pencil Holder
An extra large Galliano bottle makes a wonderful boudoir lamp with a Celestial theme. Painted to look like black lacquer, paint and stickers decorate the bottle and shade with gold moons and stars. A bottle top style wiring kit (mail order) was a snap to install and made the whole project finished in no time.
Square bottles require a little more patience than round ones, but they make very useful containers once you've mastered cutting them. I've made handsome vases, candle jars, and in this case, a pencil holder. Look for olive oil, vinegar, and liquor bottles. They often come in lovely colors and have nice flat sides, which are especially good for glass etching and decorating.

Additional Supplies:
- #61-3340 Dazzle Tac glue
- Sculpey clay
- Square olive oil bottle
- Metallic Gold acrylic paint
- 3 in 1 Oil
- Paintbrush
- Protective gloves
- Safety glasses
General instructions:

Decorating the holder
- Soften a piece of Sculpey clay the size of a large marble in your hands until pliable by kneading it, then roll into a ball.
- Roll out the clay on a board or counter to form a snake about 1/4 " thick.
- Lay out the snake around the cut edge of the bottle. Pinch off excess.
- Gently press the snake down onto the glass. Try to maintain the shape of the snake, but clay must be firmly in place.
- Bake bottle on a cookie sheet at 275 degrees in the middle of the oven for about 10-15 minutes in a well ventilated room. Check often. Do not allow to burn. If clay is a little thick, it may need to bake a minute or two longer, but no more than 20 minutes. Check constantly until clay is firm.
- Remove cookie sheet from oven and allow everything to cool untouched away from a cold breeze or counter.
- If any part of the clay is not secured to the glass after baking, re-attach with Dazzle Tac glue.
- Paint as desired with gold acrylic paint. Decorate as desired with gems, stickers, pictures, etc.
