Project Steps

1. This design was etched in stages.The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously. Additionally, it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
2. After preparing the glass, draw a centerline down the back of the bottle. Place the reindeer stencil on the front of the bottle, along the centerline in the middle of the bottle. Follow the etching cream directions to etch the deer onto the bottle.
3. Place the letters as close to the reindeer as possible. Begin with the letters in the middle on the centerline and work outward. See the lettering tutorial if necessary. Place an empty frame box on the neck of the bottle and cover any unwanted parts of the stencil securely with masking tape. Place the desired word into the empty frame beginning with the letters in the middle and working outward. Use the etching cream, as before, to etch these onto the glass.
4. Cut a crest stencil in half. Looking through the back of the bottle, place a crest piece on either side of the reindeer as close ot the image as possible. Use the etching cream again to etch these onto the bottle.
