Project Steps
- This design was etched in stages.The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously. Additionally, it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
- After preparing the glass, place the Hugs & Kisses stencil in the middle of the mug centered over the Grandma stencil. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch the words onto the mug.
- Looking through the back of the glass, place the open heart as close to the G as possible. Place the FOR letters in the heart beginning with the O. Press the letters down firmly and use the etching cream, as before, to etch the heart onto the mug.
- Looking through the back of the glass, wrap the flower stencils closely around the words. They will not all fit at one time. Use the etching cream again to etch the flowers onto the mug.
- Continue the process of adding flowers and etching with the cream until the desired look is achieved.
