Project Steps

1. This design was etched in stages.The technique allows the use of a particular stencil image multiple times on the same project when you don't have enough to etch all simultaneously. Additionally, it enables stencil images to be placed in closer proximity than the stencil borders would otherwise permit.
2. After preparing the mirror, use the pinstripe tape to make a line on both long sides of the mirror, 1 inch in from the edge. Remember, etching cream will be applied between the tape lines. Follow the Rub N Etch directions to rub the America and the words centered between the sidelines.
3. Follow the etching cream instructions to etch these onto the mirror.
4. Lay the star border stencil next to one of the side lines and a star in one of the 5 locations they appear n the design. Use the etching cream, as before, to etch these onto the glass. Continue the process of adding and etching the star border and individual stars until the design is complete on the mirror.
5. Remove the glass from the frame and replace it with the etched mirror.
